New Year

Here is my New Year's post that's a little late written (but who cares!).

I didn't make any resolutions, because I think it's not logical to promise to do something the year following, only because it happens to be the day when our calendar year changes. For me, I prefer making promises whenever I feel ready and motivated to change my life in some way. Right now I'm in a process of cutting down the amount of sugar I eat, because even though I know it's really really bad for me, it's been hard to eat less sweet things. I had thought about it as my one bad habit, but now little by little I decided to reduce my sugar eating. I'm still in the phase of "drinking tea without sugar" and "only bake one sweet thing every two weeks" and "try to invite someone over to eat the sweet thing you've made". Because baking is one of my hobbies, I would like to still keep doing it when I have the chance of sharing the results.

Another kind of change in my life I'm processing right now is doing more sports. I don't see it as very challenging, because I've always loved moving and have had like five trainings per week, but now I just needed motivation to start doing something again. I started dance classes last week, and I've been doing some physical strength training every other day, and I think it's just fine like this. I would really love to have a dog also because of the amount of walk it requires, and for previous experience, most of the time it doesn't feel like I have to go for a walk only because of the dog. It just makes a good habit out of it as far as I know.

I asked my best friend recently what she thinks is the best thing in having your own dog, and she answered me with a novel, and it didn't really help me with my puppy fever (not that I would want to be helped anyway..). She talked about the trust and unconditional love and friendship with the dog, and that someone who has never had pets just can't know how much you grow to care about each other, and how much it can make your life happier. That would be the novel in two sentences (:

Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow or soon anyway I'm going to post now actually much more recent pictures, and then I should be up to date with them. Pictures here are from my New Year's celebration, and some things I've been baking (:

Colors of the Autumn

For having been busy studying I just got the pictures from weekend edited today.

O has a minor fracture in his foor, so our night time walks together are cancelled for at least a few weeks, which is a pity as I immensely loved those moments. But that's life, and at least I will know to appreciate our walks more when the foot is ok again ;)

I also baked these delicious chili bread rolls on Saturday, and I recommend it - so good! The colors of the autumn were not the only things I saw during my little walk: I also met a woodpecker and four squirrels, of which only one let me close enough to be able to take a picture with the basic equipment I had with me.

Beautiful autumn days to everyone!

Waiting for Hiking!

The hiking trip to the national park of Pyhä-Luosto was postponed for tomorrow, and the friend can't make it so it's going to be just the two of us.

In the mean time I made some pancakes and korvapuusti, a Finnish pastry. Also one picture from the last post got left behind for some reason so I'll just put it here.

I can't wait our little hiking trip! I've always wanted to go hiking to Lapland with a tent, camera and good company of course. Thanks to its quiet, ascetically beautiful nature it's my favourite place here in Finland, and if I'd stay in this country, I would want to live right here in the north. Right now the plans are returning to Chile in some point, and why not live in other places for a while too, but you never know until the moment is up. And I love it, it would be boring to know everything about your future exactly for sure before it happens. What's the point in mourning if your plans don't go the way you want, just enjoy the life as it comes (;

Barley fields

I couldn't get many good pictures from our mission to pick mushrooms, because it started raining, and my camera still hasn't got any rain protection. We didn't get many mushrooms either, because even though there were many, there was none of the kind we went looking for. At least it was a nice walk in the woods (:

Tomorrow I'll go hiking with O and a friend for two days to a place called Pallastunturi. I hope I'll get many pictures there!

Have a nice starting of the autumn!

Mi Chile

At last I had the time and energy to install a program to edit my pictures, do the work of choosing the best ones and editing them, and now getting (some of) them here. I love being here in Chile, but I won't write a lot here because I'm too lazy to copy-paste the letters ä and ö all the time, as they are used in Finnish but not found in the keyboard here.

Just enjoy the first set of pictures from Chile! And there will be more frequent posting in the future, after having overcome the troubles with getting started now (:
