Roadtrip to Norway

During our winter holiday, we took a few days' trip to northern Norway going Rovaniemi - Nordkapp - Tromsö - Rovaniemi. I was high on lack of sleep because that jungle theme event had been going on for the last two days, and for my calculations I slept more or less ten hours between friday and monday when we arrived to Tromsö. There we could finally see a great show of northern lights, and I could get some pictures too, but I still need a lot of practise with that area.

There are plenty of these pictures, but I'll try to show only my favourites in the next few posts (:

First Snow

Oh my, how time flies when doing school work and packing backpacks, I just now got my last taken pictures ready for posting, but I don't have any time to write something more enlightening. That is, because we are heading to Helsinki tomorrow and I want to get some sleep before the 5 am wake up. An exciting thing is (if everything goes as planned) also going to occur on the way to the south, because we are after long considering going to buy a used car. I just hope everything goes well, and that by this time tomorrow we'll be in Helsinki and happy car owners.

Here are the pictures from the day before yesterday, the first time it snowed this autumn/winter. This morning the temperatures were 10 celsius below zero!

People of Two Homes

After a pause this long I had to check what was the last post with pictures about, and so I will put here now the last pics of Chile. Tomorrow I'll start posting more recent pictures I have taken here in Rovaniemi these days. Yesterday for example we got surprised by a group of reindeer one block from our apartment, so I ran to get the camera.

The moving went well, and getting the stuff to the third floor without an elevator happened much faster that I would have thought. A couple of days ago the last box was finally emptied, and now only a few little things are waiting to have a place in the apartment. Otherwise it actually looks like a home! It is so wonderful to finally have my own place both physically and mentally. I am already loving this place: the apartment is perfect for me and O, it lies close enough to everything, and still the whole city is much more peaceful and green than Helsinki (the capital). It feels good to be here.


O said something interesting a while ago, he said that it's natural to feel like going home when flying towards Chile, but it's peculiar that it feels like going home also when going back to Finland. I thought that I actually feel the same - seems like we are people of two homes.

Even though I will cross all the lines I put to myself about how many pictures I can publish at once, here come the last images of Chile! And I happen to appear in three of them, wohoo!

At the Beach

Chile - a country about 4000 kilometers long that has more than 6000 kilometers of coastline with the Pacific Ocean.

And some good news: the results came yesterday, and I got in to the university I wanted! Yahoo! (:
