Colors of the Autumn

For having been busy studying I just got the pictures from weekend edited today.

O has a minor fracture in his foor, so our night time walks together are cancelled for at least a few weeks, which is a pity as I immensely loved those moments. But that's life, and at least I will know to appreciate our walks more when the foot is ok again ;)

I also baked these delicious chili bread rolls on Saturday, and I recommend it - so good! The colors of the autumn were not the only things I saw during my little walk: I also met a woodpecker and four squirrels, of which only one let me close enough to be able to take a picture with the basic equipment I had with me.

Beautiful autumn days to everyone!

From the Depths of the Computer and the Comeback of the Watermark

This longish radio silence is due to a simple reason: I just haven't used my camera in a few days. Tomorrow I am going to see what kind of walking paths they have in the Ounasvaara hill, but before that here I have some pictures from time before this blog.

As someone may have noticed already, after I came back from Chile the watermark disappeared from the images - also for a very simple reason, laziness. Laziness has won this round, but in these old pics the watermark is still there, so let this be its comeback!

Gold

This is how it looks like near the Gold museum in Tankavaara, three hour's drive north from Rovaniemi. As I got back home the evening had coloured the sky over a misty lake so beautiful, I just had to stop to take some pictures there.

Day Two of the Hike

After a beautiful, cold morning we started the second day at seven a.m. I love nature after night, everything covered in morning dew and sun giving it a golden bath.

There were about 15 kilometers left to go, and one pretty rough uphill path, but the views were worth the aching feet. It was much more amazing to actually be there physically and having accomplished what you came to do than what it looks like in the pictures. Beating heart and the wonderful feeling of the wind in your tired body can't be captured in the images, while the views could have been better demonstrated with better equipment, but these are just fine for me (: Unfortunately I didn't have too much time to spend with the camera, because we took a wrong turn once and therefor lost half an hour and had to hurry up more the rest of the hike (we arrived just in time ten minutes early for the one and only bus to the city at 3 o'clock!).

When the bus took as back to the city after having given us one and a half hour's nap, we both felt like not walking another meter. So, for the first time here in Rovaniemi we got to experience the public transportation! As we are not one of those happy bus card owners, we normally go by bike or foot everywhere.

This experience really left me craving for more, be prepared for some more sometime :D

Camp and Fire

Is there anything more atmospheric than a campfire toasting toasts and marshmallows, and a golden sunset behind the trees...
